We cannot do great things on this Earth, only small things with great love.

I started this post the other day but got busy and forgot about it. So,
I was blog hopping yesterday the other day and one of my fav’s was asking for homemade festive gift ideas.
I was thinking about a scarf. A funky fleece scarf! It’s super easy to make and it gets lots of complements. Mine is pink and tan, but just think of the options.
To assemble the scarf, you will need three pieces of fleece (fleece usually comes in 58 inch width which is perfect for the scarf’s length) yardage would depend on how many scarfs you would want to make, each scarf is 8 inches wide. Your three pieces would consist of two of the same pattern and one a solid.
Sandwich the solid between the two patterned pieces. Cut them widthwise about eight inches, ie. if you bought a 1/2 yard of each fabric and sandwiched them and cut them in 8 inch intervals you would yield two scarfs. (You will have an 8 inch by 58 inch piece of fabric - triple layerd.)
Double stitch down the middle of all three layers lengthwise.
Then on each side of the stitching cut in, at two inch intervals, to the stitching.(hum, did that make sense?)
Shake out and you will have a beautiful funky scarf.
I love mine and sister is making them for her school friends this year.

You’re in pretty good shape for the shape you are in.
Dr. Seuss
Brother’s first written sentence was, "My cat is fat." Poor cat. He would write it everywhere, for school projects, on index cards, each word on a different post-it note, on my phone message pad. Hell, I think he even wrote it under the recliner in the living room.
I felt bad for the cat, you know with the nickname of fat. But truth be told he is a fat cat.
Usually the fat cat sleeps on my bed beside me, just at the curve of my stomach. If he is mad at me he will sleep at the foot of the bed. He usually wakes up early in the morning and goes for his morning fat cat face stuffing, then will come back to bed. This morning he decided he was going to jump from his sleeping place beside me onto the nightstand. - He could have just as easily walked up the side of the bed and walked right onto the table, but he thought he must jump. He jumped. He missed. He fell to the floor. (along with all my night table stuff) He woke me up at quarter till four.
All I could think as I jumped and turned over is, My cat is fat. and. stupid.
The end.
