Life’s Just Beachy

Like Vacation — Only Not

Hike 24, 7, 4 - hut hut

December27

All of us are born with a set of instinctive fears - of falling, of the dark, of lobsters, of falling on lobsters in the dark, or speaking before a Rotary Club, and of the words “Some Assembly Required.”
Dave Barry

So, Christmas is over, vacation is over and life should be getting back to normal soon. But, how silly is that sentence. See. Christmas is over, vacation is over, but the washing machine is broken. Plus, to top it off, tomorrow I leave again for Atlanta to spend the weekend with my sister and to see my nephew who is flying in from Japan. I’m tired and i’m sore and i’m over the holidays already.

I have been catching up on all my reads. I have been unable to spend lots of time commenting, but it has been awesome to see your Christmas(es) unfold and hear about the final outcomes! We totally enjoyed our time, Disney was great! A bit crowded, but it was expected to be. The kids loved Christmas morning, we all got what we wanted and all is well.

So, yesterday - we got home - with the bag of dirty laundry in tow - and opened more presents, played with our toys and loved on the kitties and the dog. I decided that the Tasha, the dog, needed to go for a walk with her family, since she hadn’t seen us in five days. Sister and I took her up to the church for a free run. Sister stood on the side while I went into the field to play with her, and the next thing I knew….

Imagine this image above as a 60 pound doberman in the red jersey and a 43 year old, out of shape white woman in the white jersey. Not good. Not good at all. The “B” knocked me straight on my…well not on my…but just as above straight out spread eagle on the ground before I even knew what hit me.

Yes. Today I am tired and sore and wishing the holidays were over already, I just don’t know if I can stand anymore fun.

Excuse Me Sir, That’s My Daughter

I love to see a young girl go out and grab the world by the lapels.

A little while ago I took Sister up to the local country store to get some chocolate chips for these cookies. I stayed in the car and she went in; when she walked in the door there was an older gentleman (using this term very lightly) walking out. He turned around and checked my daughter out. She didn’t even notice and didn’t skip a beat as she headed to the baking isle.

Me, I noticed. And, I’m Not very happy about this. Not very happy about this at all.

Enjoy The Season

And the angel said unto them, “Fear not! For, behold, I bring you tidings of great joy, Which shall be to all people. “For unto you is born this day in the city of David A Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you: Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, Lying in a manger.”
St. Luke ii. 10 - 12

Christmas presents are all bought, wrapped and shipped. The Christmas cards are done! The alarm clock is off, the kids are off and all the calendar expectations are fulfilled. There is nothing left now but to enjoy the rest of the season.

Today officially starts Christmas vacation. We are leaving on Friday to spend a week with Mickey and all the holiday magic of Disney.

I think I am going to take a break from the expectation of blogging as well…to enjoy the rest of the season with the kids…with the husband…as a family.

Enjoy your Holiday!
