I’m Thankful

December1

So, here I am - playing hookie this morning from Monday morning at work.  I keep trying to work into going back part time, but each time I bring it up (to the boss) it falls on deaf ears. So, I just keep going in late - leaving early…you get the idea.  Surely, sleeping with the boss should have some perks, no?

By way of updating, we had a lovely, beautiful time in Costa Rica.  I don’t have any pictures, though. If you do face book, you know that our first night at the mission was abruptly awakened at 4:30 in the morning because the house was flooding - literally 4 inches of water throughout the whole place.  Sadly, my Nikon was in its case on the floor.  It’s fried.  We are going to take it to town and have them put it on a meter, but there is not much hope.  SO, No pictures.  Our friends took pictures and hopefully we will have a disk soon.  (Although, all the pictures will be through someone elses eye and perspective.)  The rest of the week was great, we ended up in a mountain side resort overlooking the ocean.  Tapas and wine every night, lounging and exploring throughout the day.  I love the CR people and could see us spending more time there.

Thanksgiving was great, we had family in town, so it was busy, busy - and taxing, taxing taxing.  Dinner was delish.  I need to post a few recipes - the stuffing, yum  - sausage and cranberry and apple, oh my.

Sister was away all last week, which means I have only seen her for four days in the last month.  She got off the plane on Saturday night and was so happy to be home, but was saddened to hear that we were leaving again on Thursday.  We are going out of town again this weekend, then hopefully our lives will slow down again.

Then, maybe I will start posting again?

On My Way

So, Wens commented about me not commenting on our presidential election.   Neither candidiate, in my opinion, was ideal to lead our country and I think each would have brought with him it’s own set of problems. We have a new president and our job is to stand behind him and support him.  The job can’t be easy and we should surround him and our country in prayers.

Tomorrow morning, The Hub and I are on our way to Costa Rica for 10 days.  A MUCH, MUCH deserved break.  I am excited and nervous (I hate to fly) and can only dream how nice it is going to be.  Ten days, No kids.  I’ll miss them.
